The MirageTHE MIRAGE
The glint of sunlight on the waters of the Oasis beckons to me. Close enough to see but too far to touch, The carefully calculated distance is protection Though whether it is protection for myself
Or for the Oasis I do not know. Time seems to curl around itself like a leaf drying in the sun, Passing swiftly by while not moving at all. The burning gaze of the sun's unkind eye wanes And the softer, more forgiving light of night approaches. Suddenly the Oasis i have been chasing is there, before me. Waiting. LemonadeLemonade
Drawing my sunglasses slightly down the bridge of my nose With the hand that wasn't holding up the book I asked him from the comfort of my lounge chair
To bring me a glass of lemonade. A simple request.
After all, the pitcher gleamed so brightly In the same sun that warmed our own shoulders On its table there on that beach
Just across the mostly uninhabited waters. Except for an occasional shark.
He tilted his head, looking at me quizzically
As I pointed to the object of my desire That was so temptingly close

Would You?Would You?
You're begging for attention and I'm kinda wondering why. Would you have truly called me if she hadn't said goodbye?
If you weren't all by yourself, weren't afraid to be alone, would you have bothered, really, to even dial the phone?

Hi Everyone! (or at least... you.. *grin*)

I'm 26 years old! Eeek!

So I've decided my Birthday Resolution.
(For those of you not in the know, a mid-year birthday such as I have provides an excellent opportunity to re-resolve any goals you made six months ago. Explanation over, I return you to your regularly scheduled journal entry)
